		<description>very interesting, but I think this experiment says more about the kind of people that use the metro in DC than it does about western humanity as a whole.  

in paris or montreal I think there&#039;d be a crowd at some point and this guy&#039;s guitar would have way more than 32 bucks in it.

I would have definitely stopped. I&#039;m not so surprised that others didn&#039;t take notice, just amazed that such a world-class artist could have been seen for free, in passing.

I witnessed a similar event on Government St. in Victoria, B.C., Canada where I live. A fairly talented violinist busker was playing his heart and soul out one night on a popular tourist avenue. My wonderment at his passion was only outstripped by my absolute astonishment at the complete indifference of passersby. They seemed like zombies, afraid to acknowledge the magic of the moment.

Joshua, please come and play in our beautiful Inner Harbor here in Victoria. I&#039;ll notice you immediately...</description>
